There are areas in the Western United States where the selenium rich soils exist or the irrigation water sources are selenium rich. In time, regions such as these have increasingly high selenium soil levels. Although selenium is an important trace element, if high levels of selenium are ingested it may reach toxic levels, leading to health problems even death.
Why choose a forage-specific ration balancer?
Horses eating different types of hay have different vitamin and mineral requirements. The No Added Selenium Ration Balancer is formulated specifically for horses consuming grass hay which is grown in areas high in selenium, providing targeted nutrition without unnecessary ingredients.
